2:42 Small Groups
Our 242 Groups are based on the design pictured in Acts 2:42 –
Acts 2:42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayers. (ESV)
It is our desire that we recreate the same atmosphere of fellowship and unity that the early New Testament church practiced. Our 242 groups meet in homes around the area with the primary focus of fellowship, studying God’s Word and praying together. The home setting gives an incredible opportunity to grow and develop real, loving relationships with other people.
We currently offer 4 groups:
Thursday at 6:30 the Young Adults meet at the Weaver home to share a meal. This group is primarily for 18-30 year olds but welcomes new comers of any age. After eating, they focus on prayer for the church and community intermingled with contemporary worship songs, scripture reading, and videos from teachers such as Francis Chan or Loui Giglio.
Friday night at 6:30 at the Dennis home, Dan Dunahoo leads a group that is open to all ages and walks of life. They choose a book of the Bible to study chapter by chapter.
Sunday night at 5:30 at the Birath home, Dan Dunahoo leads a second group that is open to all ages. They study and discuss a book of the Bible chapter by chapter.
2 Sundays a month at 5:30 at the Willis home, Rex Dugger leads a group. They eat a potluck style meal together and they are currently studying “The God you May not Know”
