We hope that you feel welcomed and wanted as soon as you arrive on the Mt. Gilead campus. We strive to greet everyone with genuine excitement, that they have come to participate in worship and growing in the Lord. We pray that the Holy Spirit would meet each guest and member alike with peace and comfort as they come to participate in the ministries hosted here at Mt. Gilead.
Dress: Our church family is a mix of all ages and so you may see some members dressed more casually while you will see some who are dressed more formally. We invite you to dress in whatever way you are comfortable, allowing your own conscience to guide you as to what is proper for worship. Above all, please don’t let your wardrobe be the reason you don’t come. We are happy to welcome anyone who comes with a genuine heart to worship God.
Music: The music portion of our service will be a mix of modern and traditional. We have a Praise Team that will blend contemporary songs with praise choruses and classic hymns. It is our goal to create an atmosphere of praise, worship and adoration of Jesus, so children and adults alike will be able to worship through song with us. Children in Pre-k through 5th grade are present in the worship service through the time of singing and then dismissed to Kid’s Church after the last song.
Sermons: Sermons are typically 35-45 minutes in length and always point to Jesus as the “author and perfecter of our faith.” We believe that beholding Jesus helps us to understand our lives in everything from salvation to personal finances and everything in between. We move through the scriptures, mostly in a topical manner, while relying on the text and context of a passage to carry the weight of the teaching. Sermons at Mt. Gilead draw on plenty of scriptures each week to help illuminate the lesson by showing how the whole of scripture testifies to the teaching.
Childcare: Childcare is available for newborns through 2 years old during all regularly scheduled worship times, including Sunday School classes. Check-in begins at 9:15a on Sundays. Kids Church begins on Sundays after our time of singing in the main gathering for children from Pre-k through 5th grade. Please see the Children’s Ministry page for ages and details.
